How to avoid Shopify transaction fees?

Shopify is one of the most popular eCommerce platforms, but it has drawbacks. One of the biggest is the transaction fees that Shopify charges on every sale.

So, the question is – how can you avoid Shopify transaction fees?

The only way to avoid paying transaction fees on your Shopify store is to use Shopify Payments for payment processing.

With Shopify Payments, you can accept payment in various methods without transaction fees. It includes payment via Google Pay, Apple Pay, Debit and credit card payments,

However, you will still be charged a credit card rate that varies by your chosen Shopify plan and the store location. The higher your plan is, the lower the credit rates will be. The Shopify and Advanced plans have comparatively lower credit rates than the Basic plan. So if you’re making many sales via credit card payments, it may be worth upgrading to one.

Unfortunately, Shopify Payments is available in very few countries, which includes the USA, UK, France, Australia, and others. If your store location is among any supported countries, you can leverage it to avoid transaction fees.

For the rest of the world, Shopify will charge a transaction fee starting at 2% for the basic plan, 1% for the Shopify plan, and 0.5% for the advanced plan.
