Can I Use Multiple Payment Methods on Shopify?

Yes, you can use multiple payment methods on Shopify. You can add as many payment methods as you want to your Shopify store, and you can switch between them anytime. This can come in handy if you want to accept different types of payments from your customers or if you want to offer multiple payment options for different products.

To add multiple payment methods to your Shopify store, go to the Payments section of Shopify settings. There, you can choose from various options to enable multiple payment methods.

How to add Multiple Payment Methods on Shopify?

Adding multiple payment gateways to your Shopify store gives your customers more options for paying for their purchases. It can also help you increase sales by making it easier for customers to pay.

Here are the three ways to add multiple payment gateways to your Shopify store –

1. Use Shopify Payments

If you use Shopify Payments, you can offer multiple payment methods to your customers. This includes Google Pay, Apple Pay, internet banking, cards, and other options. However, it is supported in very few countries.

To set up Shopify Payments to your store, just go to Settings > Payments and click the “Activate Shopify Payments” button. After that, follow the steps and provide details.

2. Add 3rd-party payment gateways

Shopify allows you to connect multiple payment providers to your store. You can connect PayPal, Stripe, Amazon Pay, and various other international and local payment providers that enable you to offer various payment options to your customers in different parts of the world.

To do this, follow these steps –

  1. Go to Settings > Payments from your admin.
  2. Scroll down to the “Supported Payment Methods” section.
  3. Activate the suggested payment methods or click the “Add payment method” button for more options.
  4. Now search for your payment provider by name or the supported methods.
  5. Select the gateway you want to use from the list and follow the on-screen instructions.

Similarly, you can repeat steps 1-5 to add other payment gateways to your store.

3. Use manual payment methods

Apart from using Shopify Payments or a third-party payment gateway, you can also offer multiple payment methods by adding manual payment methods like Cash-on-Delivery (COD).

To do this, go to Settings > Payments in your admin and scroll to the “Manual payment methods” section. Then, click the “Add manual payment methods” button and select the payment method you want to enable from the dropdown.

Add details in the popup and click the “Activate” button to enable it. Similarly, you can add other desired manual payment methods.

Wrapping Up

All in all, yes, you can use multiple payment methods on your Shopify store. However, which ones are available to you will depend on the country you’re in and the Shopify plan that you’re on. So if you’re looking to use more than one payment method on your shop, check with Shopify first to see what’s available.
