Cohort Analysis

The term cohort refers to a “group of people with shared characteristics”. Keeping this in mind, let us now see what cohort analysis means.

Cohort analysis is a subset of behavioral analytics. It fetches data from any given platform, eCommerce, or web application. Instead of looking at the wholesome data, it breaks down the data into related groups or cohorts for analysis.

These grouped cohorts share similar characteristics or experiences for a defined time period. You can apply cohort analysis to understand whether customer engagement improves over time.

You can create two types of cohorts, based on when they signed for using your product and based on their behavior. Cohort analysis helps you closely observe your customer groups and analyze how their habits change over time.
